~ Daisy ~
Adopted February 2011

Daisy and her sister, Rosie, were rescued from an Amish puppy mill in December 2010  [thank you Laura !!].    We think she is about 4 years old.   We know she's had puppies, although not how many litters.    What a TINY girl ~ only 15 lbs and probably 12"  at the shoulder.   Skinny through the hips, it's hard to believe she's had babies since she looks so much like a puppy herself.

Daisy quickly adapted to life as a pet ~ she was already housebroken, which is rare in a puppy mill dog.   She loves to hang out on the couch and is almost cat-like in her ability to climb over the furniture arm to investigate anything of interest on the table.   Have to keep an eye on this one .    She'll also curl up on your lap for a snooze while you read or watch TV.

Buddy has been very helpful in showing Daisy the ropes of day-to-day life  [this is how we guard the house against cars that drive by, this is how we chase the squirrels from Mommy's bird feeder].    He's trying very hard to teach her how to play.

**  Buddy is feeling a bit lost right now, having lost his best girl, Sashi just a few weeks ago.

Daisy quickly learned that beds are very soft and comfy ......
and of course,  you need to sleep right in the middle !

Daisy's coat was incredibly matted and filthy when she first came to us.   We had to clip/shave a lot of it off, so she needs 'outerwear' to keep her warm while we are on walks until the weather gets warmer.    She's not too thrilled, as you can tell by her expression.
